Out with the old & in with the new

A few weeks ago, Klaas and I decided we wanted to buy a dishwasher. It always took us ages to get around to doing the dishes and when we finally did, it was usually one of us doing all of it because the other one didn't have time. We found a dishwasher that was on sale and that looked good, so we allowed ourselves to splurge, if you will.

Whoops, blurry.

But of course this is a luxury item, which meant that the universe wasn't in balance anymore. So of course our fridge broke. We could've bought a cheap fridge and saved money, but for as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a Smeg refrigerator. So we looked into it and actually found the one we wanted, for a reasonable price! It was delivered to our house last night and we are in love with it.

It's about as tall as I am (1.70m) and it has a freezer compartment at the top. My dad and brother were surprised that we didn't go for a bold color like green or red, but we thought this creme color was the wisest choice since we don't know what kind of kitchen we'll end up installing when we build a new house. A creme fridge will go with a bright green or red kitchen, but a bright green or red fridge won't go with every kitchen. We're sensible like that.

Seeing as this fridge was also a luxury item, Klaas's computer keyboard broke. We ordered a new one (although we've now discovered it isn't available anymore), which caused the spark plug of our stove to break. We had that fixed, but now our vacuum cleaner is making weird sounds. We might have to replace it eventually. For now, however, everything is working as it should. *knocking on wood here*
