Wedding pictures: part 7

And then we danced the night away

When we were done enjoying enormous amounts of delicious treats, it was time for our first dance! We picked Baby I'm Yours by Arctic Monkeys (a cover). We thought it was so over the top and so ridiculously mushy that it actually became really cool and romantic. Plus, I don't know any song that has lyrics that are as lovey dovey as these.

After our first dance, our friends (and some of our relatives) joined us on the dance floor. We had handed out some fancy masks beforehand which actually provided us with some pretty fun pictures.

Such a cool picture!

Lovebirds! Getting married themselves in a little over a year!

My youngest cousin showing us how to dance the Macarena!

The above two pictures were taken during Glee's mash-up of Thriller and Heads Will Roll.
Supercool pictures, I think. ^^

Our wedding day was officially over by 4am. We put some decorations and flowers in the car and were home by 5am. We took off our fancy clothes (It actually felt sooo good to take off my dress, but I've missed it ever since. :( We may have to get divorced, just to get married again!) and just crashed into our bed. We were both so exhausted.

We had so much fun on our wedding day and we're so thankful so many people came out to celebrate with us. We just hope everyone had as good a time as we did.

Wedding pictures: part 6

The dinner party

After our two-hour reception, our guests went downstairs for dinner. My mom and I made a table chart so everyone could check for themselves where they were seated. We didn't want the names of our guests to be called out, because we'd heard that a lot of singles dislike being reminded of the fact that they don't have a +1. Plus, we thought it was way too formal. As you may remember from this post, we were inspired by our honeymoon to New York, so we used it as the theme for our seating chart.

Really pleased with how our centerpieces turned out.

We made our menus to match our invitations and table name cards.

When our guests were seated, Klaas and I came in. I felt sooo uncomfortable, with everyone staring at me. Luckily, Klaas was feeling VERY happy and claimed most of the attention.

Then it was time for our maid of honor and best man's speech. Seeing these pictures makes me want to watch the video again.

Klaas got sentimental...

We didn't feel comfortable choosing one dish that would have to satisfy 65 people, so we opted to have a buffet for every course. We had some pretty picky eaters at our wedding, so this way there was lots of different food to choose from.

The entrées

After the entrée, Klaas's mom gave a little speech (it was a poem about colors) and my brand new stepfather-in-law played us a tune on his harmonica.

After that, it was time for the main course. It was amazing, if I do say so myself.

My dad playing a prank on the in-laws...

After the main course, we had a dessert buffet. First, however, Klaas and I got to cut our ice cream cake. It was sooo delicious, but we had a hard time cutting it as it was a bit too frozen...

See, we're still cutting...
Also, how great do I look in this picture? I'm thinking I should have a purple light behind my head at all times.

STILL CUTTING!!!

Finally made it through that cake. ^^

Being the goofballs we are.

There is one more post left after this one. I bet you're all relieved. Aren't ya? AREN'T YA?!
