Looking back

Today marks the first anniversary of our engagement and I can hardly believe it. I remember feeling blue, as I always do around that time of the year, what with Christmas being officially over. On top of that I had no job prospects and I felt pretty worthless. Our lives have changed a lot since, but then again they're hardly any different now than they were a year ago. We got another dog, we've been eating a lot more cookies, I've found a job that enables us to really start saving (although I'm still looking for a better/more long-term one :-) ), we got married and we went on our first-ever trip (which was also our honeymoon) together.

I wish I could tell you how utterly romantic Klaas proposed to me, but sadly I can't. The story of how we got engaged is one that I swear will never see the light of blog-day, but let's just say I had to take matters into my own hands. There is no engagement ring, although I did get a ring from Klaas on our one year anniversary (has it really been 4 years?) which I now see as my engagement ring.

I can't get over how skinny my thigh looks in this photograph. I will cherish this picture forever.

 

In 5 days we can start celebrating our monthiversaries! It felt so good to be able to say that we had been together for 5 years... Now we have to start all over again!
